Our Materials Roadmap Progress
Our roots are natural
In cultures where ancestral wisdom remains, people intuitively wear natural fabrics that work with our body. Rich or poor, it doesn’t matter. Yet in so-called “first-world” countries, access to breathable, non-toxic apparel is surprisingly limited. Growing up in Sri Lanka, I wore cotton underwear and clothing daily, but after immigrating to Canada 20 years ago, my wardrobe quietly shifted to synthetics, and my body eventually began to reject it.
Why we do what we do
Over the years, we saw people around me navigating auto-immunity, hormone disruptions, fertility challenges and chronic illness. hormonal and autoimmune imbalances. It began to feel less like coincidence and more like a pattern. Learning about PFAs, BPAs, and azo dyes used in apparel (and the growing research behind them) became the catalyst to create Kiseau.
The antidote to fast fashion
The apparel industry is one of the greatest unseen disruptors of our time, polluting our Earth's waterways and our bloodstreams. We're here to research, innovate and create healthier next-to-skin essentials that supports the body’s natural rhythms. A safespace where what we wear becomes an act of selfcare.
